VTU is now providing digital copies of both the Provisional and Final VTU Degree Certificates through the DigiLocker application, which is a central government initiative. This service is available to students from constituent, affiliated, and autonomous colleges under VTU.

You can now easily download your certificates using the DigiLocker app. This article will guide you on how you can download your VTU Degree Certificate or Convocation Certificate via your mobile phone in less than two minutes for any graduating year.

What is the VTU Degree Certificate?

The VTU Degree Certificate is an official document issued by Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) to students who have completed their academic requirements and earned a degree from the university. This certificate formally acknowledges the completion of a specific course and confirms that the student has met VTU’s academic standards. The certificate typically includes:

• Graduate’s name
• USN (University Seat Number)
• Degree earned
• Field of study or branch
• Passed-out month and year
• Division earned (FCD/FC/SC/PASS)
• QR Code (for certificate verification purpose)

The VTU Degree Certificate is crucial for validating educational achievements and is often needed for professional and academic purposes after completing degrees at VTU.

Note :  

1) Please note that both the original hard copy and digital copy versions may vary in design but are equally valid in all aspects, and they are both issued by VTU (Visvesvaraya Technological University) only.

2)The digital copy of the VTU Degree Certificate is legally valid when used electronically, as per the IT Act of 2000.

To download the VTU degree certificate through the DigiLocker app, students must have the following details:

• DigiLocker account
• USN (University Seat Number)

How to Download the VTU Degree Certificate?

Follow these steps to download your VTU Degree Certificate:

STEP 1 : If you already using the DigiLocker app, proceed to step 2. If not, download the DigiLocker app from the Play Store or App Store and create an account using your Aadhaar details.

STEP 2 : Log in to the DigiLocker app and click on the search icon on the home page.

STEP 3 : Under “Categories“, select “Education & Learning” option.

STEP 4 : Use the search icon at the top right corner to search for “Visvesvaraya“. Click on the VTU logo in the search results.

STEP 5 : Choose the type of certificate you need:

• For the original digital copy of the degree certificate, select the first option (for all VTU students, including autonomous colleges).
• For the provisional degree certificate, select the second option (for students of VTU constituent & affiliated colleges).

STEP 6 : Your name and date of birth will be automatically retrieved from your Aadhaar details. Ensure these details match those on your VTU degree certificate. If not, update your Aadhaar details accordingly. Enter your USN, select the passed-out year, and click “Get Document“.

STEP 7 : Go to the “Issued” tab on the home page to find and view your degree certificate.

STEP 8 : Click the download icon to save the certificate to your device.
